MITHUN AT A GALANCE

> Born in 16th June 1950 at the nursing home of Shorala Ghosh in Darji Para.

> Father Basanta Kumar Chakraborty and mother  Shantimoy Chakraborty.  Basanta
  Kumer used to works at the No-55 Telephone exchange.

> Nickname is Gourango, people at the locality used to call him as Gour.

> Grown up around South Kolkata behind Jorabagan police station 20. C Mathur Sen
  Garden Lane.

> The name of Mithun’s grandfather is Tarapad Chakraborty and grandmother is
  Jamunabala Chakraborty. (Nana is Kalikingkor Banarjee and Nani is
  Bimola Banarjee (people called her Panuma)

> Mithun has three sisters. Together they are three sisters and one brother.

> He studied at Oriental seminar school. Form early childhood he was God-fearing.

> He used pet pigeon and rabbit, fly kite, and was very dynamic.

> He studied science at Scottish Church College. He also was the college football
  captain.  For few days, he also studied at Rohora polytechnic.

> Initially he was interested on the Congress Party and joined at the student
  federation. Later he joined Naxalite (Marxism) with a dream to build a new world.

> In 7th September 1970, he set his foot on a Train to Bombay.

> At college, everybody used to call him as Mishti da and later changed into Mithun.

> He joined at Pune Film School in 1972.  He successfully completed his diploma on
  acting in 1974. He wan Gold medal for his acting skills.

> He worked in the advertisement-using name as Rana Rez.

> He had a successful brake in the film Mrigaya by Mrinal Sen, played opposite
  Mamta Shanker.

> The shooting of Mrigaya took place in 1975.

> He wan national award in 1976 for Mrigaya.

> He first marred to Helena Luke and then got divorced.

> In 21st July 1982, he was married to Yogeeta Bali.

> First hit film: Suraksha and first supper hit film is Disco Dancer.

> Three sons:Mimoh born 30th July 1984.  Rimoh born 27th October 1988. Nimoh born
  8th  September 1992. The proper name of Mimoh is Mahahakshay and proper name of  Rimoh is Ushmay Chakraborty and Nimo is Namahshay Chakraborty.

> After the death of the actor Amzad Khan, he became the general Secretary of the
  film artist association.

> After the release of the film Disco Dancer in 1983, the first big show took place at
  the Netaji Indoor.

> In 1984, Payer Jhukta Nahin became supper hit, and he emerged as a number one
  Hindi hero.

> In 1986, the biggest function Hope 86 took place at the Jubobharati sports centre.

> Favourite colours are Black and white.

> He loves Jeans and T-shirt.

> He does not use any perfume or cent.

    > Only brand of cigarette he likes is Benson and Hedges and does not use any       lighter.
