At the age of nine, I watched Disco dancer and was completely overwhelmed by its power and fell in love with the movies of Mithun Chakraborty.
As I grew, saw his masterpieces such as Gudia, Mrigaya and Tahader Katha and discovered his incalculable strength as an actor. I also came to know about his other aspects of life, his socio-political commitments, his up hill struggle, his humane approach towards the fellow industry worker and destitute people in general and his philosophy of life. He is not only one of the greatest actor of our time but a great icon who is continuously propagating the beauty of life through his work and in personal life.
As a British Bengali, growing up in the ghetto of london, marginalised from the mainstream society, facing obstacles in every steps of the way, desperately struggling for a way out and survive with dignity.
Discovering the legendary actor, whose ethos made a profound impact on my outlook and became the major source of inspiration not only for me but also for generations around the world. I hope to enhance our awareness learn, and share our glory amongst the film lovers of the world in this platform. I hope we all celebrate the contribution of this legendary actor of our time.
